Software Quality Engineer - Web
NEOPOST Loop One is looking for an experienced Software Quality Engineer to work closely with a small team of developers to ensure the release of quality products for our high availability, high traffic web applications. If you are an SQA Engineer with a “do-what-it-takes” attitude and you thrive on making a difference, then this is the place for you.
Based in Austin, Texas, NEOPOST Loop One supports and develops full-service shipping technologies for Fortune 100 companies and major European carriers. This position will give you the opportunity to work closely with our local development team as well as with other groups in the US and Europe. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing detailed test plans and designs for testing of web-based products – including load, regression and functional testing
- Developing, maintaining and applying manual and automated test plans- must be extremely comfortable with manual testing
- Introduction of improvements resulting in more efficient/effective QA procedures
- Logging and tracking of defects to closure using standard test management tools
- Interfacing with other functional groups to understand/translate customer requirements into working designs and applications, followed with rigorous functional and integration testing
- Working closely with various teams to design and develop new products

Skills required:
- 2-5 years SQA experience with an emphasis on Internet testing methodologies
- Strong knowledge of QA procedures/practices
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environment and SQL
- Familiarity with a variety of computer hardware configurations, Internet browsers and operating systems
- Experience in load and regression testing and associated tools
- Solid, demonstrated problem solving skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a strong work ethic and be a fast learner/self starter with a willingness/ability to acquire new skills, multitask and work on projects outside immediate area of expertise
- Strong commitment to quality and customer service
Experience desired:
- Automated testing experience, especially QA Wizard
- Experience with Test Track or similar defect tracking software
- Experience testing complicated web-based UIs (DHTML)
- Some development or programming experience
- Computer Science degree or coursework
